Before founding Steecon in 1982, president and CEO Charles Steel began his successful engineering career at AiResearch in Los Angeles, a designer and manufacturer of executive aircraft interior products. During his 20 year tenure there, he developed professionally as a mechanical engineer and ultimately engineering department manager. An inventor and entrepreneur at heart however, Charles saw an opportunity to use his aerospace engineering expertise to start a company producing frangible mechanized pocket doors for VIP/executive aircraft. This innovative idea led the company from a small business started in a garage to today’s successful enterprise with domestic and international clientele comprising aircraft OEM’s, modification/completion centers and cabin interior designers.
